General Terms and Conditions for Products Sold at www.frenchlines.com.

Article 1 – Subject
These conditions govern the sale of collectible items and related products associated with French Merchant Navy history by French Lines, an association governed by French law 1901 and recognized public interest institution, with headquarters at 54 rue Louis Richard – 76600 Le Havre and registered at the subprefecture of Le Havre under no. W762001627.
Article 2 – Price
Product prices are indicated in euro and inclusive of all taxes (VAT and other applicable taxes on the date of order), unless otherwise indicated and not including handling and shipping costs.
When ordering to a country other than metropolitan France, VAT exemption will be automatically calculated and applied at the time the invoice is created. It will be reiterated that the buyer is the importer of the product(s) concerned in this situation. Customs duties or other local taxes, import duties or state taxes may also be payable. French Lines is not responsible for the payment of these duties and amounts. These charges will be borne by the purchaser, who is wholly responsible for any declaration and payment to the relevant bodies and authorities of the country concerned. It is advised that s/he check with the local authorities regarding regulations applicable to that country.
All orders shall be payable in euro, regardless of origin.
French Lines reserves the right to change its prices at any given time. However, the product will be billed based on the current rate at the time of order confirmation and is subject to availability.
The products remain the property of French Lines until payment is made in full.
Please note that all risk of loss or damage are transferred to the buyer as soon as s/he acquires physical possession of the product(s).
Article 3 – Products
The products covered by the General Conditions are those listed on the websitewww.frenchlines.com. They are available while stocks last.
The essential product features are described and presented with the greatest possible accuracy.
Article 4 – Orders
The buyer must identify themselves by his/her email address or customer number and password to place an order. S/he must create an account for any initial order.
Orders can be made on our website www.frenchlines.com.
Contractual information is presented in French and will be subject to confirmation no later than the moment the order is confirmed.
French Lines reserves the right not to accept payment or confirm an order for whatever reason, particularly if there are supply problems or if there are issues concerning the order received.
Article 5 – Confirmation of Order
All orders placed on the website www.frenchlines.com constitutes adherence to these General Conditions. All order confirmations imply that the purchaser fully accepts these General Terms and Conditions of Sale without exception or reserve.
Any data provided and recorded confirmation are deemed proof of transaction.
The author declares to be fully informed.
Order confirmation shall be deemed a signature and acceptance of transactions.
A summary of information regarding the order will be sent to the buyer through his/her order confirmation email address.
Article 6 – Payment
The act of placing an order implies that the buyer is obligated to pay the indicated price.
Purchases can be paid by:

- PayPal
- Check
- Cash
Payment by credit card:
Payment of credit card purchases is carried out through the Sogenactif security system. The card is debited at the time of order. If a problem arises with the order following the delivery process, this amount will be reimbursed to the buyer.
Payment by PayPal
This order shall be taken into account upon validation of your payment and acceptance by PayPal.
Payment by check
The buyer should send his/her check by mail to the following address:

The check should be made payable to “French Lines” and must include the order number.
Payment in cash:
Payment in cash is only possible at the association’s headquarters, located at 54 rue Louis Richard in Le Havre, from Monday to Friday between 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.
Article 7 – Cancellation
In line with the provisions of Article L.121-21 of the Consumer Code, the buyer shall have a period of 14 days from the receipt of the product(s) to exercise his/her right to cancellation without providing any justification or paying any penalties.
Returns must be sent in their original state and in full (packaging, accessories, manual, etc.). The buyer is accountable in this context. Any damage to the product at this time may impede the right to cancellation.
Return costs shall be borne by the borrower.
French Lines shall proceed to reimburse the amount paid within 14 days if the right to cancellation is exercised, which is subject to the provisions of the above paragraph, following the receipt of returned goods and via the same means of payment used when ordering.
EXCEPTIONS TO THE RIGHT TO CANCELLATION
In line with the provisions of Article L.121-21-8 of the Consumer Code, the right to cancellation shall not apply to the provision of audio or video recordings or computer software if they have been opened or unsealed by the consumer following delivery.
Article 8 – Availability
The products available are those that appear on the website www.frenchlines.com and are subject to availability.
We shall notify the buyer by email in the event that a product is not available after the order is placed. The order will be automatically canceled and refunded.
In addition, the website www.frenchlines.com does not intend to sell significant quantities of its products. Therefore, French Lines reserves the right to limit the quantity of identical objects sold together.
Article 9 – Delivery
Products are delivered to the specified shipping address during the ordering process within the time frame indicated on the order confirmation page.
In the event of late shipment, an email will be sent to the buyer informing him/her of the possible impact on the indicated delivery time.
As required by law, the buyer has the opportunity to cancel the order in the event of late delivery, according to the terms and conditions defined in Article L.138-2 of the Consumer Code. If the product is received in the meantime, we shall proceed to refund and cover the dispatch costs according to the conditions of Article L.138-3 of the Consumer Code.
In the event of delivery by courier, French Lines shall not be held responsible for late delivery that is solely due to the unavailability of the buyer following several meeting time proposals.
Article 10 – Collecting Purchases from Association Headquarters
It is possible to collect purchases within 3 working days following website order confirmation. Purchases may be only be collected from association’s headquarters at 54 rue Louis Richard in Le Havre, from Monday to Friday between 9:00 a.m. to 2:00 p.m. and 2:00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m.
Article 11 – Guarantee
Objects sold by French Lines are collectible antiques and works of art sold in the condition described on the website www.frenchlines.com and the billing invoice. French Lines reserves the right to unilaterally refuse any request that aims to impose any possible repair or restoration costs due to object wear and tear.
The provisions of this article shall not prevent the buyer from exercising his/her right to cancellation provided for in Article 7.
Article 12 – Responsibility
The products on offer are in compliance with current French legislation. French Lines shall not be held accountable in the event of non-compliance with legislation in the country where the product is delivered. It is the responsibility of the buyer to check import possibilities, or the usage of product(s) or service(s) that s/he intends to order, with the local authorities.
Moreover, French Lines shall not be held responsible for damage resulting from misuse of the product purchased.
Finally, French Lines shall not be held accountable for any inconvenience or damage arising from Internet network usage, including service breakdown, outside intrusion or the presence of computer viruses.
Article 13 – Applicable Law in Case of Dispute
The language of the original purchase contract is French. These terms and conditions are subject to French law. In the event of any dispute, the courts at Le Havre, where the association headquarters is located, shall have exclusive jurisdiction.
Article 14 – Intellectual Property
All elements from the website www.frenchlines.com: text, photographs, videos and logos, are and remain the exclusive intellectual property of French Lines. It is prohibited to copy, redistribute, or use, even partially, elements of the site, whether software, visual or audio, for any purpose whatsoever. The creation of any simple or hypertext link is strictly forbidden without express written permission from French Lines.
Article 15 – Personal Data
French Lines reserves the right to gather personal information and data regarding the buyer. This is required for the management of his/her order, as well as improving the services and information that we send him/her.
This information may also be sent to companies that contribute to these relations, such as those in charge of carrying out the services and orders for their management, execution, processing and payment.
This information and data shall also be retained for security purposes, in accordance with legal and regulatory obligations.
In line with the law of January 06, 1978, the buyer has the right to access, amend or oppose personal information and data concerning him/her directly on the website.
Article 16 – Archive Proof
French Lines shall archive purchase orders and invoices on a reliable and durable system that constitutes an accurate copy in accordance with Article 1348 of the Civil Code.
Computerized records belonging to French Lines will be considered by all parties as proof of communication, orders, payments and transactions between the parties.
